President's Report

Happy New Year!

Welcome to our first edition of the Greater Omaha Chapter of NACE Newsletter.  Here you will find all sorts of fun information including what is new in the Omaha catering arena, "who is in the news", local job postings and other exciting current information.

2010 is promising to be an amazing year for the Omaha Chapter.  Our "Forks in Paradise" A Catering Challenge will be held on Thursday, April 29th at the new Metropolitan Institute for the Culinary Arts. Please attend and support the hospitality community by attending and watching some of Omaha's top chefs compete in an "Iron Chef" style competition.  This fundraiser will be our third annual event.  The first annual "The Golden Fork" A Catering Competition won the 2008 Fundraiser of the Year for the entire NACE membership.  We competed against 30 chapters for this title.

Please join us at one of our many meetings this year. We have some interesting educational programs slated for 2010. They include topics such as:  Jewish Wedding Traditions, Green Meetings, a Vodka/Dinner Pairing, and "How to host an upscale tailgate party". Please join us for one of these programs and find out why The Greater Omaha Chapter of NACE won the "2008 Chapter of the Year" award.  We look forward to seeing you soon!
